Sports Legends with Bevo – Ep #24 – Jasmine Simmons – Loving life at Port Adelaide!

Jasmine Simmons is a highly athletic and talented sports woman who has joined the many who have switched between basketball and aussie rules.

Jasmine recently signed up at the Port Adelaide Football Club through a trade with the Adelaide Crows ahead of the 2023 AFLW season.

After playing football as a junior, she made the switch to basketball and spent three years in the United States playing for Oregon State University.

Originally hailing from Broken Hill, she later moved back into footy and signed up with the Crows as a rookie ahead of the 2022 AFLW season.

Basketball was still a part of her and somehow she managed to combine footy and basketball and in 2022 she was part of the West Adelaide Bearcats team that won the NBL1 Central women’s championship.

On our recent chat on Sports Legends with Bevo we spoke about why Jasmine is loving her time at Port Adelaide and what it was like to take on her old team in a trial match recently, growing up with older siblings and how she’s transitioned from basketball to footy.
