Sports Legends with Bevo – Ep #21 – Rod ‘Jammo’ Jameson – How he nearly ended up as a Roo.
1997 Adelaide Crows Football Club premiership player Rod ‘Jammo’ Jameson is a true example of a versatile footballer.
Jammo led the Crows goalkicking in their inaugural year in 1991 before spending most of his later career in the midfield and defence.
He played 153 games for the club and 71 for the Glenelg Football Club in the SANFL prior to this.
Post his playing career, Jammo has been on the Crows board and been in the media with the ABC for over 20 years.
On my recent chat with Jammo on Sports Legends with Bevo we discussed what it was like being part of the inaugural Adelaide Crows squad, how Jammo nearly ended up at the North Melbourne Kangaroos and who led the celebrations after winning the club’s first ever premiership in 1997.
