It was a huge honour to interview Philip Micallef, who recently decided to retire from professional journalism after an incredible career that began in the 1980’s.
Philip has worked full time for Fairfax (Illawarra Mercury) and News Limited (Daily Telegraph), SBS, Times of Malta, The Malta Independent and Sunday Telegraph.
He also was a long-time contributor to SBS (The World Game) and he has interviewed many of the world’s greatest footballers of all time.
Find out what it was like to interview the greats like Pele and Maradona, which interview throughout his career really surprised him and why he decided to retire as a professional Journalist.
