Patrick Bines had it all in his younger years, whatever sport he played he excelled at.

Patrick played basketball for several years with the Melbourne Tigers in the South Eastern Australian Basketball League and even represented Australia at junior level.  

In 2018, he made the big call to make the move from basketball across to footy when he was picked up as a Category B Rookie by the West Coast Eagles and it was here at the Eagles that his life was turned upside down.

In 2019, whilst playing in the WAFL, Patrick sustained a horrific head knock which ended his footy career.

We spoke about the difficult times Patrick went through as a result of the injuries he sustained and how he turned things around. We also shared some of stories growing up with competitive siblings and where to now for his career going forward.
