Comedy Legends with Bevo – Ep #1 – Lawrence Mooney – The man of many voices!
What a thrill it was to kick off our Comedy Legends with Bevo series with a chat to one of Australia’s best comedians and media icon Lawrence ‘The Moonman’ Mooney.
The Moonman is an Australian comedian, actor, writer, and former television and radio presenter.
He was best known for his imitations of our previous Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull where he created a character called Big Mal which was heard on Triple M around Australia.
He has been one of Australia’s best stand-up comedians for many years now and was the winner of the Melbourne Fringe Best Comedy Award in 2011 and also made it to the semi-final in America on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2007.
He has also appeared on a variety of different television shows including: The Einstein Factor, The Celebrity Chase, Spicks and Specks, The Project, Studio 10 and Have you Been Paying Attention and acting roles in the Cup and Winners and Losers.
On my chat with The Moonman on Comedy Legends with Bevo, we found more about his new show Beauty which the Advertiser described as ‘lude, crude and rude’, how he got the ideas to do the different voices that he’s famous for and where he got the passion for comedy.
Legends with Bevo Podcast as seen on Channel Seven’s Sunrise, Ticker TV and Channel 44 Adelaide. Heard on Triple M Mackay and the Whitsundays, Radio Italia Uno, Flow FM Australia and Radio Today’s Podcast. Featured in the Sunday Mail and the Mount Barker Courier.
